Correct option: (d) -330 a7

Explanation:

given: [x – (a/x)]11

we know,

Tr+1 = ncr an–r br

∴ Tr+1 = ncr (x)n–r [– (a/x)]r

ncr (– a)r ∙ (x)n–2r

11cr (– a)r ∙ (x)11–2r

To find coefficient of x–3 i.e. 11 – 2r = – 3

∴  r = 7

∴   Tr+1 = 11c7 (– a)7 x–3

∴  coefficient of x–3 is = 11c7 a7 (– 1) = – 330 a7
