What is the area bounded by the curve y = log x, y = 0 and x = e.

Bounded area = \(\int\limits_1^elnxdx\)

 = \([xln x - x]_1^ e\)

 = e ln e - e - x ln 1 + 1

 = e - e - x \(\times\) 0 + 1 (∵ ln e = 1 & ln 1 = 0)

 = 1 squre units
