If the length of rod A is (2.35± 0.01) cm and that of B is (5.68 ±0.01) cm  then the rod B is longer than rod A by (3.33± 0.02) cm.

Explanation:

rod A = 2.35 ± 0.01 cm; rod B = 5.68 ± 0.01 cm rod B – rod A = ? Difference of nominal values = 5.68 – 2.35 = 3.33 cm addition of tolerences = (± 0.01) + (± 0.01) = ± 0.02 cm

Hence difference is 3.33 ± 0.02 cm
