माना बिन्दु के निर्देशांक = (h, k)

बिन्दु (h, k) की (-g, – f) से दूरी = a

\(\sqrt{(h+g)^2+(k+f)^2=a}\)

वर्ग करने पर, (h + g)2 + (k + f)2 = a2

h2 + g2 + 2hg + k2 + f2 + 2kf = a2

h2 + k2 + 2gh + 2kf + g2 + f2 – a = 0

बिन्दुपथ के लिए

x2 + y2 + 2gx + 2fy + c = 0

जहाँ c = g2 + f2 – a2
