Two transparent media A and B are separated by a plane boundary. The speed of light in those media are 1.5 x108 m/s and 2.0 x 108 m/s, respectively. The critical angle for a ray of light for these two media is:

(1) sin–1(0.750)

(2) tan–1 (0.500)

(3) tan–1 (0.750)

(4) sin–1 (0.500)

Let critical be C

Then

SinC= 1/u, where u is the refractive index of the denser mdium

So u  = vel of light in lighter medium/ velocity of light in denser medium=2×10*5/1.8×10^5

Hence C = Sin^-1(1/u)=Sin^-1(0.750)
