The correct option (d) 5.6  

Explanation:

Given: 5, 9, 13, 17, 25

Median = [(n + 1)/2] = 3rd observation

∴ M = 13

Mean deviation about median is given by δM = [(∑|xi – M|)/n]

∴ δM = [(8 + 4 + 0 + 4 + 12)/5] = (28/5) = 5.6.
