An aeroplane accelerates down a runway at 4 m/sec2 for 30 seconds until it finally lifts of the ground. Find the distance travelled before take off.

Given,

the initial velocity = 0 m/s

acceleration = 4 m/s2

time = 30 s

According to laws of motion.

S = ut + 1/2 at2

S = 1/2 at2

S = 1/2 (4)(30)2

S = 1/2 x 4 x 30 x 30

s = 3600/2 m

S = 1800 m

The distance traveled before takeoff is 1800 m.
