Correct option: (D) 5 : 1

Explanation:

T2 = m1 a

T1 = (m1 + m2)a

(T2 / T1) = {m1 / (m1 + m2)} = {3 / (3 + 12)} = (1 / 5)

hence T1 : T2 = 5 : 1
