Correct option: (A) 27.15 N

Explanation:

m = 4kg, μs = 0.6, F = 10N

N + F sin 30 = mg cos 45

N + (F / 2) = 4 × 10 × (1 / √2)

N + 5 = (40 / √2)

N = 23.28

fs(max) = μs N

fcontact = √(fs max2 + N2)

= √(μs2 N2 + N2)

= N √(μs2 + 1)

fcontact = 23.28 √(0.62 + 1)

= 27.16 N
