Correct option: (D)

Explanation:

Frictional force is nonconservative force. Work done by nonconservation force depends on the path taken. In case of friction. for example less work is done on a book if it is dragged across a table in straight line that if book is dragged in curve path. The longer the path more is work done by friction.
