1. The slope of rivers flows in south India towards east.

2. Hence, the rivers flow from west to east through the Eastern Ghats and meet the Bay of Bengal.

3. This flow of rivers has led to the breaking of the Eastern Ghats.

4. No such rivers flow through Western Ghats.

5. Hence, the Western Ghats are compact and continuous range while Eastern Ghats are scattered.
