Thomson’s Model of Atom : According to Thomson an atom is a sphere of positive charge in which the small negatively charged particles (electrons) are embedded. The number of electrons is sufficient to neutralize the positive charge.

There are three fundamental particles which constitute an atom. These are named electrons, protons and neutrons.
