In a container of negligible heat capacity, 200 g ice at 0° C and 100 g steam at 100° C are added to 200 g of water that has temperature 55° C. Assume no heat is lost to the surroundings and the pressure in the container is constant 1 atm. What is the final temperature of the System ? 

(A) 72° C

Correct option: (C) 100° C

Explanation:

Ice at 0 °C : 200 gm

Steam at 100 °C : 100 gm

Water at 55 °C : 200 gm

No heat loss & pressure is constant = 1 atm = 105 N/m2 

Because steam is left in the system Final temperature of system = 100°C
