An urn has 6 balls out of which 4 balls are black and 2 balls are red. Two balls are drawn at random. What is the probability that the ball drawn are of different colours?

P (they are of different colors)

= P(first ball drawn is black) x P(second ball drawn is red) + P(first ball drawn is red) x P(second ball drawn is black)

\(\frac{4}{6}\times\frac{2}{5}+\frac{2}{6}\times\frac{4}{5}\)

\(\frac{8}{30}\ +\ \frac{8}{30}\)

\(\frac{16}{30}\)

\(\frac{8}{15}\)
