Best answer

(a) Both the statements are true and Statement II is the correct explanation of Statement I.

Weight = Mass x Acceleration due to gravity

i.e. W = mg

Since, the acceleration due to gravity g of the earth decreases with height, so a body weighs less on a hill top than surface of earth.
