The gradient, or slope, of a line is the change in y over the change in x.

The gradient of the line joining A(4,3) and B(9,7) is:

(7 - 3)/(9 - 4) = 4/5

Correct option is (b) 4/5

Let A(4, 3) and B(9, 7) be the given points.

Then, the slope of AB = \(\frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}\)

\(= \frac{7 - 3}{9-4}\)

\(= \frac 45\)
