Best answer

Correct option is (a) \(\pm\)13

Given equation is:

(x + 3) (x − 3) = 160

On simplifying, we get

x2 − 9 = 160    .......(By using (a + b)(a − b) = a2 − b2)

x2 = 169

x2 = 132

∴ x = ±13.
