Best answer

Correct opt ion is (d) x > 4 or x < –2

∣1 − x∣ > 3

⇒ 1 − x > 3 and 1 − x > −3

When, 1 − x > 3

⇒ −x > 2

⇒ x < -2   ---(1)

When, 1 − x > −3

⇒ −x > −4

⇒ x > 4  ---(2)

From (1) and (2),

x < -2 or x > 4
