Best answer

Correct option is (a) No solution

|A| = 6 – 6 = 0

⇒ Either the system of equations has no solution or infinite solutions.

Hence, the given system of equations is inconsistent with no solution.

Solving the first equation for y we get: y = (-1/3)x + 5/3

Solving the second equation for y we get: y = (-1/3)x + 4/3

Same slopes, different y-intercepts ==> parallel lines

Parallel lines have no points of intersection and consequently no common values.

Therefore: (a) No solution
