Acceleration refers to a change in the velocity of a body. If we consider the special case of continuing velocity in a specific direction, then velocity and speed have the same value. Acceleration may be decreasing, but as long as acceleration is greater than zero, the speed can continue to increase but at a slower rate. So it is certainly possible for a body to have decreasing acceleration while its speed is increasing.
