An electromagnetic wave going through vacuum is described by E = Eo sin(kx – ωt) then B = Bo sin(kx – ωt) then

(A) EoBo = ωk

(B) Eok = Boω

The correct option is (B) Eok = Boω.

Explanation:

E = Eo sin(kx – ωt)

B = Bo sin(kx – ωt)

we know (Eo / Bo) = C  and  k = (ω/c)

∴ (Eo / Bo) = (ω/k)  hence Eok = Boω
