Differentiate between a template strand and a coding strand of DNA.

S. No Template Strand Coding Strand
(i) The DNA strand that has the polarity 3' - 5' act as a template for transcription and known as template strand. The strand which does not code anything and has polarity 5'-3' is called coding strand.
(ii) Nucleotide sequence is complementary to the one present in mRNA The nucleotide sequence is the same to the one present in mRNA except for the presence of thymine instead of uracil.
