Three advances made by Indian Railways in the recent years are:
i. Fast ‘Duronto’ trains between a few stations.
ii. E ticketing and reservation
iii. Dedicated Freight Corridor and Dedicated Passenger Corridor (DPC) The dedicated passenger corridor is called the ‘Golden Corridor’.
iv. 51082 km of track has been converted to broad gauge.
v. 20059 km of the network has been electrified.
