Rokheya Sukhawat Hussain was stopped from learning Bangla and English. This was because at that time English was seen as a language which would expose girls to new ideas, which people thought were not correct for them.
But she managed to learn these languages with the help of her elder brother and an elder sister and went on to become a writer. She wrote a remarkable story titled Sultana's dream in 1905 to practice her English skills.
