ऐस्पिरिन खाली पेट लेने पर इसके जल-अपघटन से सैलिसिलिक अम्ल बनता है जो अल्सर पैदा करता है, जो अत्यन्त हानिकारक है। अतः इसे खाली पेट नहीं लेते हैं।
