In a hydrogen atom, if magnitude of energy of an electron in the ground state is 13.6 ev, then that in the 2nd excited state is ???

We know in a Hydrogen atom, if energy of an electron in ground state is 13.6 eV, then that in the 2nd excited state is 1.51 eV.


Second excited state is the third energy level (i.e n = 3)

So, E3 = -13.6/(3)2 eV

i.e = E3 = -1.51eV
