Let Sn denote the sum of the first n terms of an A.P. If S4 = 16 and S6 = – 48, then S10 is equal to :

Correct option  (1) – 320

Explanation:

Sn = Sum of n terms of an A.P.

S4 = 16 = a + 3d …..(i) 

S6 = –48 = a + 5d …..(ii) 

From (i) & (ii) 

d = – 32 a = 112
