बहुत कम दाब पर वास्तविक गैस, आदर्श गैस की भाँति व्यवहार करती है, इसे वान्डरवाल समीकरण से समझाइए।

वान्डरवाल समीकरण: \(\left(P + \frac{a}{V^2}\right)\ (V-b) = RT\) 

(n = 1 मोल) में 

जब दाब बहुत कम होगा तो आयतन अधिक होगा 

अतः b <<< V तो

\((P + \frac{a}{V^2})\ V = RT\)

\(PV + \frac{a}{V} = RT\)

\(PV = RT - \frac{a}{V}\) 

आयतन अधिक होने के कारण, 

अत: PV = RT इससे सिद्ध होता है कि बहुत कम दाब पर वास्तविक गैस, आदर्श गैस की भाँति व्यवहार करती है।
