A resistor of 12 Ω, a capacitor of reactance 14Ω and a pure inductor of inductance 0.1 H are joined in series and placed across 200 V, 50 Hz ac supply.

Calculate (i) the current in the circuit

(ii) phase angle between current and voltage. Take π = 3.

XLωL = 2 x 3 x 50 x 0.1Ω = 30 Ω
