(i) In molecular solids, the constituents particles are molecules which are held together byvan der Waals forces of attraction. e.g. I2

(ii)Metallic solids consist of positive ions surrounded by and held together by a sea of free electrons. These free electrons are mobile and are responsible for high thermal and electrical conductivity of metallic solids. e.g. Ag, Cu.
