A newly discovered planet, "Cosmo," has a mass that is 4 times the mass of the Earth. The radius of the Earth is Re.  The gravitational field strength at the surface of Cosmo is equal to that at the surface of the Earth if the radius of Cosmo is equal to

Correct option (C) 2Re

g = GM/r2 so the acceleration due to gravity (and the weight of an object) is proportional to the mass of the planet and inversely proportional to the distance from the center of the planet squared. M × 4 = g × 4 and if the net effect is g = gEarth  then r must be twice that of Earth.
