(i) The yellow coloured ppt. of compound (A) is formed on passing H2S through a neutral solution of salt (B).

(ii) (A) is soluble in hot dilute HNO3 but insoluble in yellow ammonium sulphide.

(iii) The solution of (B) on treatment with small quantity of NH3 gives a white ppt. which become soluble in excess of its forming a compound (C).

(iv) The solution of (B) gives white ppt. with small concentration of KCN which becomes soluble in excess of this reagent forming a compound (D).

(v) The solution of (D) on treatment with H2 S gives (A).

(vi) The solution of (B) in dil. HCl on treatment with a solution of BaCl2 gives a white ppt. of compound (E) which is insoluble in conc. HNO3
