The difference between the actual value of the figure and its approximated value is called statistical error. For example if number of students of a college is 1,255 but in round figures it is written as 1,300, then the difference is called ‗Statistical error‘. In the words of Prof. Connor, ―In statistical sense, „error‟ means the difference between the approximate value and the true or ideal value, accurate determination of which is not possible”.
