What are ionic hydrides? Give examples

These are stoichiometric compounds of dihydrogen formed with most of the s-block elements which are highly electropositive in character. Elements of group 1 and 2 except lighter metals like Li, Be and Mg will form hydrides .

EX: NaH , KH, RbH etc
