A sphere, a cube and a disc made of same material and of equal masses heated to same temperature of 200ºC. These bodies are then kept at same lower temperature in the surrounding, which of these will cool (i) fastest, (ii) slowest, explain.

Rate of energy emission is directly proportional to area of surface for a given mass of material. Surface area of sphere is least and that of disc is largest. 

Therefore cooling of (i) disc is fastest and (ii) sphere is slowest.
