the two ways for preventing rusting of iron are as follows :

[1] painting  : after painting the metal surface as the moisture present in the air fails to react with the metal , resulting in prevention of rusting .

[2] galvanisation : by this process , a thin layer of zinc is coated over the metal surface  , which is obtained by the electrolysis . Hence , resulting in prevention of rusting .
