Three ships A,B & C are in motion . The motion of A as seen by B is with speed v towards north-east. The motion of B as seen by C is with speed v towards the north -west. Then as seen by A,C will be moving towards -

I think option (B) SOUTH  will be correct

Given VA- VB => v ( NE)

So VB- VA => v ( SW)  ....(1)

Again given

VB- VC => v ( NW)

So VC- VB => v ( SE)  ....(2)

Adding (1) and (2)

VC- VA => v ( SW) + v (SE)

Cancelling Opposite components (E and W) we get that C will be moving toward SOUTH as seen by A
