Let a, b be the intercepts of the line.

So, a + b = 0 => b = –a

Equation of the line is x/a+ y/-a=1

=>x-y=a

The line passes through (–2, 4) => –2 – 4 = a => a = –6.

Equation of the required line is x – y + 6 = 0.
