(i) Write the equation of a wave identical to the wave represented by the equation : y = 5 sin π (4.0 t – 0.02 x) but moving in opposite direction. 

(ii) Write the equation of stationary wave produced by the composition of the above two waves and determine the distance between two nearest nodes. All the distances in the equation are in mm.

(i) Given, y1 = 5 sinπ (4.0t - 0.02x)

 The equation of the wave moving in opposite direction will be 

y2 = 5 sinπ (4.0 t - 0.02 x) 

(ii) The equation of stationary wave is,
