A mass m is tied to an elatic band of length l and whirled in a vertical circle.The angular speed of the mass at the lowest point of the path is ω. If Y be Young’s modulus, calculate elongation at this point.

Let x be the elongation. Using dynamics of circular motion mω 2 (l + x) = T – mg

T = mω 2 (l + x) + mg ...(i)
