Two spheres of mass m1 and m2 move in a horizontal plane with velocities v1 and v2, respectively. The direction of vx is perpendicular to that of v2 (Fig.). What is the sum of the momenta of the spheres if m1 is equal to 2g, m2 is 3g, vx is 6m/sec, and v2 is 4m/sec?

The sum of the momenta of the spheres is represented by vector OC (Fig.), which makes an angle of 45° with OA and OB.
