No, passion and power are not the same thing. Passion is the abuse of power. Passion is like a storm and power is like strongly protected rock. Storm strikes against rock but cannot give it any harm. In the same way passion cannot give any harm to a calm and firm man. In reality passion is the dispersion of power.
