Context : This poem is a ballad. The knight is disappointed in his love with the French lady Fanne Brawne. He is wandering alone in the forest and his condition is very pitiable.
Explanation : In this stanza the poet asks the knight the reason of his tension. He has guessed from his face that he is in a great worry. His forehead looks white like a lily flower and his beautiful rosy cheeks have lost their grace like a faded rose. His face is moist with perspiration as if he were suffering from fever. So the poet asks him the cause of his distress.
