Given that

Equating the corresponding elements we get.

a – b = – 1…(i)

2a + c = 5 …(ii)

2a – b = 0 …(iii)

3c + d =13 …(iv)

From (iii) 2a = b

⇒ a = b/2

Putting in (i) we get b/2 - b = - 1

⇒ -b/2 = - 1⇒ b = 2

∴ a = 1

(ii) c =5 - 2 x 1 = 5 - 2 = 3

(iv) d =13 – 3 x (3) = 13 – 9 = 4

i.e. a = 1, b = 2, c = 3, d = 4
