Find the potential difference between X and Y in volt(Vx - Vy).

Using Kirchoff's voltage law and taking increase as +ve and vice versa.

Here circuit is not complete so current in Resistor will be zero

Vx - 0 x 10 - 20 - 0 x 10 = Vy

⇒ Vx - Vy = 20
