Assertion : NH4Cl is added while analysising the III rd group basic radicals to suppress the ionisation of NH4OH.

Reason : With high concentration of OH  ions, basic radicals of other groups are also get precipitated with III group cations.

Hint : Due to common ion effect the concentrations of OH  ions is just sufficient to precipitate the cations of III rd group as their hydroxides. (As they have low Ksp values).

(A) Both Assertion and Reason are true and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion.

(B) Both Assertion and Reason are true but Reason is not correct explanation of Assertion

(C) Assertion is true but Reason is false
