Assertion : Ca2+ ions do not form any precipitate with ammonia solution. Reason : Ca2+ ions gives white precipitate of CaSO4 with dilute sulphuric acid and the precipitate is insoluble in hot concentrated sulphuric acid. 

Hint : CaSO4 + H2SO4 ⇄ [Ca(SO4)2]2– .
