The given equation is x2 + m2xy - xy - my2 = 0. That is, mx(x + my)- y(x + my) = 0 Therefore, the lines are x + my = 0 and mx - y = 0 . The angle bisectors of the coordinates are y = x = -x and y = -x . Hence, m = ±1 or |m| = 1.
