Best answer

We have 2[x] + 3 = 3[x – 2] + 5

 2[x] + 3 = 3[x] – 6 + 5

 [x] = 4 fi 4  x < 5

Also, y = 2[x] + 3 = 2.4 + 3 = 11

Now, [x + y] = [x + 11] = [x] + 11 = 4 + 11 = 15
