Present Population of city = 363000

Rate of increase in population annually = 10%

Let the populations 1 year ago be x.

Now,

x + 10% of x = 363000

x + 10/100 * x = 363000

x + x/10 = 363000

(10x + x )/10 = 363000

11x/10 = 363000

11x = 363000 x 10

x = 3630000/11

x = 330000

The population 1 year ago will be 330000.

The population 2 year ago will be  2 x 330000 = 660000

Answer is 30,000. As every year 10% is increasing then 363000 = 110%. We have to find 100%=?
Then for 1 year ago we will get. This 1 year ago will become equal to 110% now.  We have to find 100%=? This final answer is 30,000. 2 years ago the answer is 30,000.
